Angie Berwald
President, CEO
Angie joined NMS soon after it was founded and has played an integral role in building relationships with NMS representatives and clients across the globe. She is proud that NMS is always there for funeral directors as a caring extension of their team.
Kahlen Knapik
Vice President & AIC Funeral Director and Embalmer
Kahlen joined NMS in 2001 and has held key roles in embalming, cremation, and shipping, ultimately becoming a senior leader. A licensed funeral director and embalmer, he excels in building industry partnerships and supporting funeral directors with out-of-town deaths. He holds a Bachelors in business and graduated summa cum laude from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, earning the Mu Sigma Alpha award. A respected expert, Kahlen has authored articles, presented CEU programs on shipping and cremation, and serves on the Ohio Board of Directors and the Kates-Boyelston Advisory Board.
Mary Kurdila
Operations Manager
Mary “Kay” Kurdila was employed by NMS in 1996 where she began her career as assistant to Bob Smith. Eventually she moved on to Operations Manager where she assures the smooth and efficient operations of the shipping department. As a valued member of our team, she shares with us many years of experience in the shipping business.
