Requirements to ship human remains vary from country to country. Each international shipping situation is unique – there are many details that must be tended to. These factors may delay shipping of human remains. It is important that you do not make funeral arrangements with the family until you receive a flight schedule.

Since 9/11 airlines have limited the number of jets serving certain cities. In some cases they have completely eliminated services. Airlines have also limited cargo hours. Therefore, when making funeral arrangements, we recommend that you allow for possible flight delays.

Many countries require that the death certificate be signed and filed before shipping can occur. We recommend you obtain all of the statistical information from the family as soon as possible. In most cases, the consulate must certify documents. Until the documents are certified, no arrangements can be made to ship the remains.

Countries have specific requirements for the type of unit needed to ship the human remains. Without the correct unit, the human remains will not pass through customs.

Our standard fee for Shipping Services includes removal, embalming, filing of documents, combination shipping unit and delivery to the airport. This fee does not include airfare or cash advances. Additional fees may apply for removal or delivery outside a jetport city, home or hospice removal, or for extra preparation.
