What to Do After a Loved One Dies Out of Town

If you are the family member or friend of a loved one who has recently died, let us first offer our condolences on your loss. Please understand that while National Mortuary Shipping & Cremation does not work directly with the families of the deceased, we do work closely with your chosen funeral home and funeral director to serve your needs.

If your loved one has died while on a business trip or vacation, or your deceased loved one lived out of town, your first step should be to call your hometown funeral director. We will serve as a partner for your selected funeral home and assist with managing the details of an out-of-town death.

When your loved one dies away from home, it is normal to feel anxious and worried. But you should not be worried about how you will bring your loved one home and carry out his or her desired end-of-life services. Let your funeral home, in partnership with our experienced team, handle that on your behalf while you devote your energy to planning a meaningful service and celebrating the life of your loved one.
